Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019)

There’s no excuse for me watching this, I knew it won’t be good, but I was curious and looking for something uncomplicated. I wasn’t even a big fan of the first Maleficent, other than Angelina’s look and her screen presence.

It feels though like this film relies even less on her. A lot of the story is focused on Elle and on Michelle, and I’m not sure that’s wise. The fantasy elements are good, also the new creatures we discover, but the fight scene is a headscratcher and the ending is absurd and way too cheesy. It needed a different resolution and a bit more risk.
