This is the first animation I am seeing since starting this series. It’s actually the first animation I have seen in quite some time, I haven’t been drawn to them that much in the last few years. But if I had to go for one, I knew Aladdin would be an easy pick because it’s been like 20 years, I guessed it’ll be fun and not too emotionally engaging, and it’s so damn colourful.

Both leads look great and they’re also very charismatic and, while I think the film would work even without Robin Williams’ voice performance, of course he’s great, he brings a lot of joy and has all those funny lines and zingers. Jafar is wonderfully creepy, even though the film isn’t sure what to do with him in the end. This is the one major disappointment with the story, that the resolution is pretty weak.
