The `70s was the decade of the disaster movie, all
kinds of films: terror attack on airplane, a giant boat flipping upside down, a
tower on fire, earthquake, bees, the Hindenburg, etc. And here I found one I
hadn’t seen and I thought it might be fun and maybe engaging with its visual effects
of this natural disaster. And it was fun, in a way, but the film is a big mess
no one should waste time on. 😊
The writing is atrocious, the directing is bad. The visual
effects are only good towards the end, otherwise predictable meh. The
acting is mostly horrible (Victoria Principal, Geneviève Bujold and some
villain with a blond wig take the cake), the characters underdeveloped, and it’s
all just one big mess. It’s not annoyingly bad, I wasn’t frustrated, it’s just
Razzie-bad, if the Razzies had existed back then.
I give it: 4/10
