For many years I’ve wanted to see this film, because I wasn’t familiar with any of the adaptations, and I am always interested when it comes to an action flick or sci-fi. Things that were worrying: its imdb user rating of just 6/10 and especially its metascore of only 42. So, it seems I had been warned, yet I was still curious: time travel and great makeup effects (I had hoped).

And yes, it was BAD, but it did feel like its intentions were noble. The direction is abysmal and the visual effects are a disaster. I can’t believe this cost 80 million to make, it looks like 10 million, and there’s no excuse since it’s a 2002 film and they had all the right technology. It looks BAD, the story is too basic, it randomly introduces characters we have no interest in, and it just lacks vision. Also, the makeup really isn’t worthy of an Oscar nomination. It won’t make you angry, but it’s just not worth it.
