What a delightful surprise this was. I needed to see something relaxing and this was the perfect choice. The Addams Family is a very funny film and also terribly underrated. It has the screenplay of a commercial comedy, but also really funny dialogue and delivering so many memorable lines. It’s a dumb comedy (in a loving way) with a witty screenplay.

If you plan on seeing it, I recommend the Blu-Ray (rip), it looks GORGEOUS. Hard to believe this is a first film for director Barry Sonnenfeld, it’s so well put together. It received just one Oscar nomination, but it should’ve easily competed also for Art Direction (!!), Cinematography, Makeup and I would also say (because I loved the film) Adapted Screenplay, Picture and even Best Actress for Anjelica Huston. She is magnificent, doing so much acting with her eyes, and masterfully delivering the absurd dialogue. The entire ensemble cast is great, with a shout out to Christina Ricci.

So much fun.
